Maybe you call me old fashioned, but I think that marriage is special and we need to know more examples of people treating it so. That’s why I decided to compile a list of some of the longest celebrity marriages. These stars prove that not all celebrity marriages last for a short time and family is something they greatly appreciate. "Simply put, she wants to be healthy and happy. She loves blowing fire but said she's going to drastically cut back or even quit smoking,' an insider revealed to HollywoodLife.com. 'She knows she blazes every day and while it's not going to kill her, it's not the healthiest thing for her. So she's trying to quit a bit. But don't worry; she's still going to be sexy with a banging body. She's just going to feel a lot better.'

Drake, who Rihanna has been romantically linked to in the past, is said to have gotten in touch with the We Found Love singer to wish her a happy birthday.

Two Koreas hold family reunions

Hundreds of North and South Korean relatives are seeing each other for the first time in decades, at a reunion for families separated by the Korean War.

More than 100 mostly elderly South Koreans arrived in the North on Thursday for the event.

The reunions, which come after North Korea called for better relations between the two sides, will take place from 20 to 25 February.

They come ahead of planned US-South Korea drills, which begin on Monday.

North Korea had earlier threatened to cancel the reunions if the military exercises went ahead.

Emotional scenes

On Thursday, 82 elderly South Koreans, accompanied by 58 family members, left for North Korea by bus.

More than a dozen of them were in wheelchairs, and two travelled in ambulances as they needed medical attention, AFP news agency reported.

They carried gifts, including clothing, medicine and food for their relatives.

They met their North Korea relatives at an emotional event in the North's Mount Kumgang resort on Thursday afternoon. The families are also scheduled to have dinner together.

Around 180 North Koreans attended the reunion, reports said.

'A true miracle'

One of those selected for the reunions was South Korean Lee Du-young, who is in his late 70s.

"It's hard for people to understand what it's like when you've been separated so long," he told the BBC before he left for the North.

"But it's a true miracle; I'm so elated. All that was missing in my life was my brother, and now that I can see him again, I'd have no regrets whatsoever if I were to die tomorrow."

He said that as well as warm clothing, he would buy his brother chocolate biscuits because he heard they were sought-after treats in North Korea.

The reunions are brief events. Families from both sides meet for a number of hours, before eventually returning to their respective homes.

Only 100 or so relatives are chosen to take part each time. South Korea uses a lottery system to help determine who is to be included.

The process in North Korea, on the other hand, is more opaque, with critics saying Pyongyang plays politics with the families involved.

North Korea has in the past cancelled the reunions after the South took actions it opposed - most recently in September.

The South Korean relatives were briefed before the reunions and were told not to talk about politics.

Many people were separated from their relatives by the division of the Korean peninsula after the 1950-1953 war.

The Korean War ended in a ceasefire, not a peace treaty, and there are no direct means of communication for most North and South Koreans.

About 72,000 South Koreans are on a waiting list to join the family reunion events. Nearly half of them are over 80.

The reunions are the only legal way for families separated by the division of the country to see each other, the BBC's Lucy Williamson reports from the southern side of the Korean border.

They are a small but significant sign of better relations between the two Koreas, but for many of those not chosen this time, the benefits they offer are slow to arrive, our correspondent adds.
The programme was suspended in 2010 due to altercation that arose between both countries.

Woman gives birth to Stone.

Amina Bello, 25-year old woman in Yolde  Pate in Yola South LGA of Adamawa State, on Tuesday, delivered a sizable stone. Bello narrated her story at the opening ceremony of  Vesico vaginal fistula (VVF) free medical treatment in Yola Specialists Hospital. Bello, who is also a VVF patient, told the gathering that after four years pregnancy, she finally delivered a sizable stone last year.

"I was holding a pregnancy for the duration of four years, which I bitterly suffered because of the heavy weight of what is contained in the stomach,” she said. “It was last year around June, I started feeling labour and I was in that condition for three days and finally I delivered a stone.”
She said that it was after the delivery she now discovered that she was affected with VVF. Responding, Dr Sunday Lengmang, Director VVF Centre, Jos, confirmed that giving birth to a stone or any object was possible.
Lengmang was in Yola to attain to the VVF patients for the duration of one week .
“Stones and other solid objects can form in a human body in different cases,” he said. “Stones can form in a gall bladder, urinary  bladder and other several  parts of urinary tracks.”

The medical expert explained that why VVF  patients were prone to giving birth to stones or any solid object was because they drink less water to reduce urine leakage.

He said as a result of taking less water their urine become concentrated.

“Inside urine, there is salt, sodium and chlorine, and when the urine becomes concentrated, the salt becomes crystallised and finally forms itself and later ends up as stone,” he said.
Lengmang confirmed that three VVF patients had stones in their placentas and they would undergo surgery.
He said the size of the stones uncovered from the three women was six by seven and three by four centimetres.

Lengmang advised VVF patients to drink more water instead of taking less to prevent them from risk of having stones.

Man gets Penis tattoo instead of dragon

A man who thought he was getting a tattoo of a Chinese symbol on his back was in fact being inked with a  penis.
The cruel prank in Queensland, Australia, cost a backyard tattoo artist and his assistant jail time and left the victim a broken man.
On Friday Christopher William Lord, 23, was sentenced in Ipswich District Court after pleading guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and in company. He was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment with a parole release date of March 12.
While the three men were drinking, Brady and Lord convinced the victim to let Brady tattoo him.
Agreeing to have a yin yang symbol with a dragon and tiger tattooed on his back, Brady and Lord took him into a bedroom to do the tattoo.

Lord further encouraged the man to go through with the tattoo, telling him about a girl who would have sex with him if he had it done.
Starting the tattoo, Brady's design was wildly different from what they agreed on, drawing a penis, testicles and a misspelled slogan under it implying the man was gay.
After complaining the tattooing had hurt, the victim asked Brady to stop, but he continued, with Lord insisting the tattoo looked 'mad' and reassuring him that Brady was starting to draw the dragon after finishing the ying yang symbol.
When the tattoo was finished, Lord told the victim to cover the tattoo.The victim showed the tattoo to friends, who told him it was a drawing of a penis.

. 'The victim wasn't interested (in a tattoo) at first but he was talked into it and he said he wanted a yin and yang symbol with some dragons,'The bloke started doing the tattoo and there was another bloke standing there watching saying, "Mate, it's looking really good".'
'He was told not to go out into the sun and not to show anyone for a few weeks. When he got home he showed it to the person he lives with and she said: "I don't think it's the tattoo you were after"

Swoonsome actor Robert Pattinson will break a lot of hearts if the latest rumour about retiring from the acting trade are true. New reports suggest that the Twilight hunk plans to quit life on the silver screen, after a friend revealed that Rob "can't stand being famous".

Fans of Edward Cullen actor, Robert Pattinson might want to look away now, as a friend of R-Patz has anonymously told the media that the 27-year-old could quit the fame game altogether, after becoming sick and tired of sacrificing his personal life for his success.

Following his on-again-off-again girlfriend and Twilight co-star, Kristen Stewart cheating on him with director Rupert Sanders whilst filming Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, it seems like Robert can't take anymore scrutiny over his love life.

A source close to Pattinson told Radar Online: “The cost of fame is the thing he and Kristen used to complain about all day and that hasn’t changed at all.

“Rob really can’t stand being famous, even though he loves his job," they continued.

“I’m sure all the hell he went through with Kristen was the final straw for him as far as fame is concerned.”

The Brit born star won't be traveling too far away from the lens though. If reports are to be believed, R-Patz plans to take more of an interest behind the camera, perhaps as a director.

According to a source who told HollywoodLife: “Rob is looking at a whole new approach to his future and is even considering going to theater school to focus more on getting behind the camera.”

The insider then added: “Rob’s been talking to a lot of independent film makers, and the last thing he wants to do is act in another blockbuster. He would like to direct a movie one day."

There have also been plenty of hints that English hottie could become a singer. Back in August a friend exclusively told HollywoodLife that Robert has plans to launch a music career, saying: "Rob’s number one priority right now is his career, in particular music. He’s heavily invested in his music career and it will only be a matter of time that he has a number one hit on his hands."

The Umbrella hitmaker found stardom early in her life, signing her first record deal with Def Jam at the age of 17.
Now Rihanna, who turns 26 on Thursday (20Feb14), has revealed that becoming an internationally recognised celebrity was never one of her life goals - all she cared about was the music.
She tells Vogue magazine, "I did sing a lot as a child. A lot. I practiced hard to manoeuvre my voice. I love singing. I love it, and it doesn't feel like a chore. It's an expression.
"I never wanted to be famous. I just wanted my music to be heard all over the world. Then it happened and the fame came with it. I can't ever imagine feeling used to it."

Robot army 'to help future floods'

Self-organising robots that mimic insect colonies have been shown off by computer scientists at Harvard University.

The robot construction crews could in future be used to help alleviate flooding, building up walls of sandbags or as the construction crew of choice for future building on Mars.

Unlike human construction crews, there is no foreman or central control unit.

Neither is there any need for the robots to communicate with each other.

Dubbed Termes after the termites that build mounds of soil to act as lungs for their underground nests, the robots can build towers and pyramids out of blocks, even constructing their own staircases to reach higher levels.

The team behind the robots, from the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, have taken their inspiration from termite colonies, which demonstrate swarm-like intelligence.

"The key inspiration we took from the termites is the idea that you can do something really complicated as a group without a supervisor, and secondly that you can do it without everybody discussing explicitly what's going on, but just by modifying the environment," said principal investigator Radhika Nagpal, professor of computer science at Harvard SEAS.

Termites rely on a concept known as stigmergy, a kind of implicit communication in which insects observe each others' changes to the environment and act accordingly.

Breakthrough

The robots were designed to do the same. Each robots does its job in parallel with others, but without knowing who else is working at the same time.

It was very different to human construction teams, said lead author Justin Werfel.

"Normally, at the beginning, you have a blueprint and a detailed plan of how to execute it, and the foreman goes out and directs his crew, supervising them as they do it," he said.

"In insect colonies, it's not as if the queen is giving them all individual instructions. Each termite doesn't know what the others are doing or what the current overall state of the mound is."

Currently robotic systems tend to rely either on a central controller that can see the whole process or on all of the robots being able to talk to each other frequently.

The issue with such a system is that if the central controller fails, that will bring down the whole system.

"It may be that in the end you want something in-between the centralised and decentralised system - but we've proven the extreme end of the scale - that it could be just like the termites," said Prof Nagpal.

"And from the termites' point of view, it's working out great."

Prof David Burns, from Aberystwyth university's department of computer science, thinks the robots could represent a breakthrough.

"We have had co-operating robots working in the 2D environment for some time now but for robots to be able to work in the 3D environment, to be able to build things up, is an important step towards the goal of utilising such robots in areas such as construction," he said.

"How do termites produce cathedral-like structures without co-operation? To have a robotic colony acting in a similar way would be a move away from the classic hierarchical structures we used today," he added

The results of the four-year Termes project are published in Science.

A Russian man who tried to rob a hair salon ended up as the victim when the female shop owner overpowered him, tied him up naked and then used him as a sex slave for three days. 
Viktor Jasinski, 32, admitted to police that he had gone to the salon in Meshchovsk, Russia, with the intention of robbing it.

 But the tables were turned dramatically when he found himself overcome by owner Olga Zajac, 28, who happened to be a black belt in karate.
She allegedly floored the would-be robber with a single kick.

Then, in a scene reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, police say Zajac dragged the semi-conscious Jasinski to a back room of the salon and tied him up with a hair dryer cable.
She allegedly stripped him naked and, for the next three days, used him as a sex slave to 'teach him a lesson' - force feeding him Viagra to keep the lesson going.

 The would-be robber was eventually released, with Zajak saying he had learned his lesson.
Jasinski went straight to the police and told them of his back-room ordeal, saying that he had been held hostage, handcuffed naked to a radiator, and fed nothing but Viagra. 

Both have now been arrested.

When police arrived to question Zahjac, she said: 'What a bastard. Yes, we had sex a couple of times. But I bought him new jeans, gave him food and even gave him 1,000 roubles when he left."..

The son-in-law of an elderly Tennessee couple has been charged with murder after the two were killed when a parcel bomb exploded at their house.

State officials say Richard Parker, 49, killed lawyer Jon Setzer, 74, and his wife Marion, 72.

Jon Setzer was found dead at his Lebanon home after the bomb exploded on Monday. Marion was critically injured and died on Wednesday in hospital.

Mr Parker was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.

On Thursday, Jeff Fulton of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) told reporters the parcel "was placed, it was not shipped".

"This remains on ongoing investigation and we want to let everybody known the reward is still out there, if there is any additional information," Mr Fulton said.

The Tennessean newspaper reported Mr Parker was being held in lieu of a $1m (£600,000) bond.

Mr Parker ran Legacy Restorations, a historic restorations firm, and lived in a house just behind the Setzers. He was convicted of arson in 1993 and sentenced to four months of probation, according to court records, the Associated Press news agency reported.

Authorities have not released any information about a motive for the alleged crime.

China Valentine: No cinema seats for Shanghai couples

Some Chinese couples hoping to cuddle up at the cinema on Valentine's Day will be out of luck because of a campaign launched by a single man.

The unnamed man started buying up odd-numbered seats at a cinema in Shanghai to stop couples sitting together.

Others joined his online campaign and now there are no two seats together for the main showing of Beijing Love Story.

The man who started it all said it was just a joke and hoped couples would understand.

New relationships kindled?

The campaign focused on a cinema in Shanghai's fashionable Xintiandi district, an older part of the city full of shops, restaurants and bars.

It was orchestrated by a man who split up with his girlfriend last year and decided to get his revenge on couples by targeting the prime-time showing of Beijing Love story.

He bought odd-numbered seats and, within hours, others followed his lead.

The story was picked up by a number of Chinese newspapers, which showed a graphic of the cinema's seating plan with no room for couples to cuddle up together.

The man behind the campaign said he hoped people watching the Valentine's Day show at the cinema on Friday might find themselves sitting next to someone they do not know, sparking new relationships.

Gay marriage stays in Virginian

A US federal judge in Virginia has ruled that the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.

It is the first time that a southern state has had a voter-approved prohibition on gay marriage overturned.

The ruling will not apply pending a possible appeal. Same-sex marriages are legal in 17 US states, most of them in the north-east, and Washington DC.

Such unions have been approved either through legislation, court rulings or voter referendums.

'Adding momentum'

The ruling by Judge Arenda Wright Allen in Norfolk followed a legal challenge on same-sex marriage by a gay couple.

The judge agreed with them that the ban infringes on their constitutional rights and their fundamental freedom to marry.

Many expect the case - or one like it - to go all the way to the US Supreme Court, the BBC's Beth McLeod in Washington reports.

Virginia is the first state in the old confederacy - a group of southern states that are traditionally seen as socially conservative - to have its ban overturned.

The decision adds momentum to a growing acceptance of gay marriage in the US, our correspondent ADDS.

Earlier this week, a federal judge in Kentucky - another southern state - ruled that it must recognise same-sex marriages performed elsewhere in the US.

FATHER METES PURE EVIL ON CHILD

A father has allegedly beaten his four-year old son to death, padlocking his mouth to prevent him from shouting while the beating lasted. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at 7, Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran area of Lagos.

P.M.NEWS gathered that the man, Mr. Chris Elvis, who claims to sell computer accessories, allegedly locked his son, Godrich in the room, padlocked his mouth and beat him to death with an object that inflicted deep cuts all over his body, claiming that the boy was an Ogbanje (evil child that dies and reincarnates repeatedly).

The man landed in trouble when his landlady, Mrs Popoola who was in the market, was informed that something was happening in her house. She rushed home and discovered that the boy had been beaten to death by his father.

She rushed to Meiran Police Station to report the matter. The police stormed the house around 9 O’clock last night to arrest Elvis who was about to escape.

After allegedly killing the boy, he locked him in one of his rooms. He told the police that nothing happened but when the police forced the locked room open, they found the dead boy with padlock in his mouth.
Husband of the landlady, Mr. Olusola Adejumo told P.M.NEWS that the deceased boy was four years old and that the man had been acting strange since he packed into the compound last year.

According to him, when Elvis came into the compound about six months ago, he came with his children and wife and that he claimed to sell computer accessories, adding that in the first two weeks of his stay in the house, he beat up his wife thoroughly.

He said he had gone to the police station to report the incident and that the police invited them to settle the matter and warned Elvis not to beat his wife again or he would be arrested.

Adejumo explained that sometime ago, the man travelled with his family and did not return with his wife, but came with the four-year old boy and another woman, whom he claimed was now his wife because he had parted ways with his former wife.

He said that yesterday, his new wife rushed out of the house shouting for help that the man wanted to kill his son, adding that the man came out of the house and chased his wife with a cutlass, calling the woman a witch.

It was gathered that the man came back into his room and locked it, padlocked the boy’s mouth and beat him till he died.

The police at Meiran took the boy’s corpse away and deposited it at the Ota General Hospital, while the man was detained and would be transferred to Area ‘M’ Police Division in Lagos later for further investigation.

After the incident on Monday, the police also arrested the landlady who came to report the matter at the police station and detained her till Tuesday morning, while allegedly demanding for N50,000 to bail the innocent woman.

Elvis had been a strange man in the house as he do not talk to anybody and was always keeping to himself and nobody could ask him questions.

He described the murder of the boy as gruesome and cruel.

Tenants living in the same compound with Elvis never knew his name and could not tell P.M.NEWS reporter his name because he does not interact with people.

A church in the US state of Virginia, White Tail Chapel, has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation attend church services naked. Cos according to their leader, Pastor Allen Parker, the clothing requirements of other churches were overly 'pretentious'. So he decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

Pastor Allen claims that many of the most important moments in the Bible happened while the protagonists were nude, including Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection.
Speaking to CNN, Mr Parker said:
'When he [Jesus] was born he was naked, when he was crucified he was naked and when he arose he left his clothes in the tomb and he was naked. If God made us that way, how can that be wrong?'
Mr Parker is believed to have drawn at least some of his opinions on nudity from the book of Genesis, in which Adam and Eve were originally described as 'both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed'. It was only after sinfully eating forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge that Adam and Even are said to have seen their nudity as shameful, at which point they sowed fig leaves into loincloths.

Although the church allows worshipers to attend services fully naked, many members decided they would rather continue to attend fully clothed, particularly when in mid-winter, while others opt to just reveal their breasts or genitals.

And that’s equally haunting.  It’s impossible to verify but the picture tells a story about the pain and suffering that exists in Syria right now.  There are many in the media who would like to say this is because president Bashar al-Assad is a ruthless killer.  And that’s half true.  Like other government leaders – he has engaged in war and with that war has come the death of tens of thousands and the displacement of over 1 million Syrians now living in refugee camps.

But this hasn’t always been the case.  This is the inevitable result of a covert war being waged by the U.S., Israel and other Sunni countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia.  Our interests in taking down the Syrian dictator al-Assad are all about geo-politics.  If we take out Syria – we neuter Iranian influence in the region.  It has gotten so bad that al-Qaeda is now fighting on the same side as the United States government and Bashar al-Assad and his government are fighting al-Qaeda.  And Syrians are all the victim of this massive global covert proxy war.

It has gotten to the point where we don’t even know if the chemical weapons that were used in Syria were the result of al-Qaeda or the Syrian government.  When it comes to matters of intelligence and propaganda – it’s very hard to discern truth from fiction.  But no one can deny that Syria was a very stable country until we decided to go in all guns blazing.  We’re not bringing democracy to the world – that’s the sound of imperialism baby.

Selena Gomez went to rehab last month ... and sources connected with the singer say she blames Justin Bieber for her predicament.

We've learned Gomez went to The Meadows in Arizona for 2 weeks of treatment.   

Sources say Selena went for a combination of problems, including alcohol, pot and prescription Ambien.  She's also addicted to Justin Bieber.

We're told Selena's decision was largely based on "that crazy boy" -- aka Bieber.  Selena blames a lot of her problems on the excesses she was exposed to by being around Bieber and his buddies.

Sources close to Gomez tell us ... people in Selena's camp went ballistic when they found out she was hanging out again with Justin ... and saw photos of her joyriding with him on Segways. We're told that was the final straw -- she checked into rehab immediately after that.

The 2-week program at The Meadows is called DAWN ... specifically designed for people between 18 and 26.  DAWN specializes in substance dependence, trauma, family dynamics, mental health and relapse prevention.

We're told Selena is not getting outpatient help now nor is she in therapy.

Woody Allen sad over allegation of sexually abusing daughter

Woody Allen's attorney said on the "Today" show Tuesday the New York filmmaker feels "overwhelming sadness" regarding his daughter's sex-abuse allegations.
Dylan Farrow, 28, posted a detailed letter on the New York Times website during the weekend, accusing Allen of sexually abusing her when she was a child.

Allen adopted Dylan with his former girlfriend, actress Mia Farrow. The director's relationship with Mia ended in 1992 when Allen was caught having an affair with Mia's adopted teen-age daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, whom Allen married in 1997.

The allegations that Allen sexually assaulted Dylan were first made when he and Mia broke up, but an investigation determined the claims were unfounded and Allen was never charged with any crime.

"His reaction is one of overwhelming sadness because of what has happened to Dylan," People.com reported Allen's lawyer, Elkan Abramowitz, said on the "Today" show when asked about how the 78-year-old auteur reacted to Farrow's letter.

"[Dylan] was a pawn in a huge fight between him and Mia Farrow years ago, and the idea that she was molested was implanted in her by her mother," Abramowitz said. "That memory is never going to go away. So the fact that she says this now, that it happened 20 years ago, is totally understandable. ... In my view, she's not lying. I think she truly believes this happened. That's what the vice of this is. When you implant a story in a fragile 7-year-old's mind, it stays there forever. It never goes away."

The attorney said he believes the allegations are being revived because Allen has been earning career achievement accolades and his latest film "Blue Jasmine" is up for three Oscars.

FARTING COW BLOWS UP BARN IN GERMANY

Farting cows nearly blew the roof of their barn when methane gas released by the animals caused an explosion.
Police in Germany say static electricity appeared to have triggered the barnyard butt blast, damaging the roof and even causing a little flame, according to an Associated Press report.

Amazingly, only one of the 90 cows in the barn was injured - slight burns - and no humans were hurt as a result of the bovine blast.

FRIDGE SENDS SPAM E-MAIL

A fridge has been discovered sending out spam after a web attack managed to compromise smart gadgets.

The fridge was one of more than 100,000 devices used to take part in the spam campaign.

Uncovered by security firm Proofpoint the attack compromised computers, home routers, media PCs and smart TV sets.

The attack is believed to be one of the first to exploit the lax security on devices that are part of the "internet of things".

Poor protection

The spam attack took place between 23 December 2013 and 6 January this year, said Proofpoint in a statement. In total, it said, about 750,000 messages were sent as part of the junk mail campaign. The emails were routed through the compromised gadgets.

About 25% of the messages seen by Proofpoint researchers did not pass through laptops, desktops or smartphones, it said.

Instead, the malware managed to get itself installed on other smart devices such as kitchen appliances, the home media systems on which people store copied DVDs and web-connected televisions.

Many of these gadgets have computer processors onboard and act as a self-contained web server to handle communication and other sophisticated functions.

Investigation by Proofpoint into the internet addresses involved in the attack revealed the presence of the smart gadgets, said David Knight, general manager of Proofpoint's information security division.

"The results spoke for themselves when the addresses responded with explicit identification, including well-known, often graphically branded interfaces, file structures, and content," he told the BBC.

Mr Knight speculated that the malware that allowed spam to be sent from these devices was able to install itself because many of the gadgets were poorly configured or used default passwords that left them exposed.

He said attacks such as this would become much more routine as homes and furnishings got smarter and were put online.
