HOW DID ELLEN BECOME WHO SHE IS TODAY?

I’m sure all of you who Ellen DeGeneres is. At this point in time, she is definitely one of the most well renowned hosts in the world. Using her comedic nature, she has created hit after hit. She is currently the host of her own show known as “The Ellen DeGeneres show”. And by using her name as way to brand herself, everyone knows whenever Ellen’s on a show, it’s more or less likely to be a comedic related programme. This again shows how important branding is for any form of business.
Look at this, she loved being a comedian and has made a successful business out of it. But do you know that she was actually doing a whole lot of other things before even thinking about going into doing what she loves. And this includes working in a law firm! Imagine if all she became was a lawyer. That will be pretty upsetting.
Ellen was raised in Louisiana and has a brother who is a producer and a musician. However, they were separated when their parents had filed for a divorce. Her brother stayed with her father whereas Ellen moved with her mother to Atlanta, Texas. Ellen graduated from Atlanta High School after finishing her first years of high school at Grace King High School in Metairie, Louisiana. After that, she located back to New Orleans to attend the University of New Orleans, where she majored in communication studies. Seems like a typical way of life for everybody right? You go to school, get good grades and get a good job.
And here’s the funny bit. After just one semester, Ellen left the university to work in a law firm with her cousin. Not long after, she then took a job selling clothes in a chain store. To cut the long story short, before she was a hostess, she has worked as waitress, a house painter and even as a bartender! And that is why till this day she relates most of her comedic jokes with her real life experiences.

Ellen then finally started doing stand-up comedy at small clubs and by 1981 she was the emcee at Clyde’s Comedy Club in New Orleans. She began to your nationally and in just a year, she was named Showtime’s Funniest Person in America. Seeing this opportunity, Ellen then went on to produce her own shows starting with “Ellen’s Energy Adventure”, and fast forward a couple of years, here we are with one of the most famous and exclusive talk shows of all time, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”!
Currently Ellen has an estimated net worth of 85 Million! And she racked up all these cash by doing what she does best. The reason behind all her success is obvious. She’s naturally a funny person and by doing her show, she can easily become the best in the business. It’s not difficult for her to be funny! Imagine if Simon Cowell was a talk show host. I guess it won’t go as well, don’t you think?
