IBAN, BON VERSUS COSON; WHEN WILL THIS WAR END?

The average Nigerian is no longer alien to skirmishes, conflicts, wars and rumours of war as he is inundated with the sounds and sights of battles daily. These battles range from economic to politics to crimes to even education as its currently with the FG and ASUU. The latest dimension is in the world of entertainment in Nigeria. Who would have thought that someday war would broke out of the industry.  An industry that is just beginning to see the light of the day should not be going through this pounding coming from stakeholders in the music subsector. Coson, a collective society responsible for protecting the rights of and earnings from the intellectual property of Artistes signed to them have been on the vanguard to get what is rightfully the artistes whose works are being used daily on different platforms exploitatively,  slamming media houses and entertainment venues with some concocted,  exhorbitant and unimaginable fees as royalties due them. Wow! (WAHALA DEY) . Where do the owners of the media houses under the aegis of BON and IBAN begin from? (Unexpected igbese). Shoooo, right now the war rages as BON and IBAN have blacklisted artistes signed to COSON and calling on those not signed to come identify themselves so their songs could have airplays. Na wa o! Who will benefit from this fight?  What are the artistes themselves saying? What are you saying? Are you still enjoying listening to radio? Save for Metro fm and a few other stations that have complied with COSON's regulations,  you barely hear hot naija vibes on most stations. What do you think should be the way forward?
